In general, we shall not sell, lease, trade or give away your personal information to third parties or entities (such as companies that would send you spam), but please review the exceptions contained herein.
As noted, in general, we will never reveal your personal information to any third party or entity. We will not release your personal information, including your email address, to any third party, except as detailed herein. Personal information may include your name, physical address, telephone number, email address, credit card information (if we request such due to a commercial transaction between yourself and us). Other types of general information that may contain personal information that I kept by us includes forum postings, text you provide to our site, and communications you provide or send to us.
We may also collect various statistics, such as page views, traffic data, advertising data, IP address information, web log data, and other general information that isn’t precisely personal in nature.
Exceptions to our General Policy
However, there are two primary exceptions to our promise to you that we will keep you personal information confidential in nature:
- If a governmental agency, or an attorney, subpoenas your private information, or makes a formal request for discovery pursuant to any legal action, or pending legal action we will release whatever information we deem appropriate after having consulted with our own lawyer. In such cases we will provide whatever information, data, or files we have that we find appropriate to release.
The information gathered is not shared with third parties. You may turn off your cookies by adjusting the appropriate setting on your browser.
Please consult the HELP menu of your browser to learn how to turn your cookies off. Cookies do not reveal personal information and if you turn off your cookies you may find your enjoyment of the Internet, and our site, to be reduced or impaired.
In order to seek out and repair functionality issues with our servers and related programming, we may use your email and IP addresses for evaluation and diagnostic purposes.
General Business Related Contact
You may be required to complete online registration forms that provide us with contact information (such as your name and street address), your email address, and your phone numbers.
We may, from time to time, send you emails regarding our service so that we can directly communicate with you regarding issues we determine to be relevant. We may also provide you with promotional information about our tools and services, as well as tools and services offered by our partners. An opt-out procedure is provided with each mailing regarding general offers or information. You must accept emails from us that deal with specific issues regarding your account or membership. This is because we may need to contact you if there is a change in the service that we are providing you or if we need to respond to an inquiry that you have sent us regarding a customer service issue or other important concern.
Naturally, should you purchase a product or service from us, now or in the future, we will require sufficient information from you so that we can complete the transaction. Such information could include a credit card number and related account and billing data, invoice related information, and other data required for processing the order. All information of this nature is maintained by us in a secure database and transmitted across the Internet from you to us using secured transmission encryption. We shall also contact you directly for any reason we deem appropriate related to the business we conduct with you, such as dispute resolution issues, conflicts between members, fraud or similar complaints and any reasonable matter where it is in our discretion appropriate for us to make contact directly with you for non-marketing reasons.
We will disclose your personal information if we deem it appropriate to do so to ensure the safety of another, or if such disclosure is reasonably required to resolve any potential legal claim arising from your behavior and activities on our Site or through the tools and services that we provide to our members or you.
Transfer of our Business
Should we sell or merge our business with another person or entity, we will transfer all personal information we have to that person or entity. However, we will require this third party to agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement as a condition of the sale or merger unless we are barred by law from doing so. An example of a case where we would be barred from doing so, potentially, could be if our assets were sold pursuant to a bankruptcy or other similar legal action.
Certain Services Require the Use of Your Personal Information
Some services, such as escrow, insurance, shipping and fraud complaints, require the reasonable usage of your personal information and you expressly grant us permission to do so when you request such services.
Spam and Other Bad Acts
We do not tolerate spam, spoofing, or spyware. Please report any such activities to us.
You may not add the email of any member to your own email list without their permission, including any one who has purchased an item from you. You may not issue spam through our tools or services.
It is your responsibility to ensure the security of your password. Should you allow a third party to use your password, intentionally or otherwise, your personal information may be exposed. Your password should be changed every month. Your password should contain both numbers and letters and small and large caps: Ti23lgT is an example of a potentially “good” password but do not use that particular one. Do not use your name or the name of your business or family members as a password. Change your password at once if you believe the password is no longer secure.
Your personal information must be accurate, complete and up to date.
If you leave our membership, we will maintain your personal information for a reasonable period of time.
We cannot promise that under all possible circumstances your personal information will remain completely secure, since we cannot predict the actions or abilities of third parties.
Be very careful in how you go about releasing personal information to other users on our Site. Ask whatever questions you feel are appropriate to make sure you are comfortable in not only engaging in a transaction with another member, but sharing personal information needed to complete the transaction.
